Save notes to Markdown rather than SQLite
B
Benjamin Syverson
Pretty much what the title says—I would rather have the default storage for notes be a user-selectable folder of Markdown files than an opaque SQLite blob. This would help users find their notes using macOS Spotlight and standard UNIX tools, and would eliminate the need to have multiple "Integrations" just to sync notes.

Diogo Monteiro yeah we can def replace the obsidian integration with this.
But also curious what is your main motivation to move all notes to obsidian. Are you intend to use Hyprnote for recording/transcription only and manage everything in Obsidian?
Sam
yujonglee I can't speak for the OP, but certainly Obsidian is where I keep all my notes, documents, canvases, databases, excalidraw etc.... so if I use another app to record / transcribe a meeting I always export it to Obsidian where it lives.

Sam: got it. This will be likely included in our new major update. (v1)

Diogo pointed this out but I want to be able to put the markdown files in an iCloud synced directory so I can get it on other devices.

Also removes the need for an Obsidian integration altogether (which currently doesn't automatically write to Obsidian anyway).
If implementing this, please consider using parametrised paths , e.g., report_{date}.
